On Wednesday, December 1 during lunch recess the official school Spelling Bee by grade (3rd-5th) will begin. Then those top students will compete for the School Championship (December 15, 1:30-3:00) in the cafetorium! The School Champion can advance to the Regional, State, and National competitions. Adult Volunteers Needed: We need judges, pronouncers, and general helpers during practices and the Bee. (Younger siblings welcome and no experience necessary...we will train you!) TOMORROW IS PICTURE DAY! If your student missed previous picture days, they will need to have their picture taken. If you would like your student’s original portrait retaken, please return the original package in its entirety to the photographer on picture retake day. A replacement package with your student’s new image will be printed and delivered to the school. If you did not purchase photos but would like to have them retaken, please have the student’s picture taken during this retake session.

Tomorrow is POPCORN DAY! If you didn't buy a prepaid popcorn card, please make sure your kid has $.50 for a bag of popcorn. Popcorn day is every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. The profit made goes back to our wonderful teachers.

The bi-annual County Line Auction for Education, Tiki Time at the Terrace, is coming up on February 26, 2022! We are looking for help contacting potential donors! Many hands will make this work light. We can not do it alone! By volunteering to help us you would receive a list of about 10 to 12 businesses to contact to request a donation and then follow up. Contact can be as simple as an email or phone call or you can even stop in! Please reach out to us if you can lend a hand! CONFERENCE SIGN UP CLOSES AT 3PM TODAY! Don't forget to get signed up for Parent/Teacher Conferences this Wednesday & Thursday. How to schedule Parent Teacher Conferences via Skyward Go to gsdwi.org 1. Select “Skyward” on the upper right side of the screen. 2. Log in using your login ID and password 3. On the left hand side “Home” blue column, click “Conferences” 4. You will see your child’s name, then in blue text “View Scheduled Times / All Conferences”  Click on “All Conferences”  You will then see under Status in blue “Select a Time”  A new window will open with days and times the teacher has available  Click on the time slot you want for the day desired  Click save  Add a note with your preference for an in person or virtual conference  Repeat step 4 for scheduling multiple children

All 3rd-5th graders are invited to participate in the County Line Spelling Bee sponsored by the Scripps National Spelling Bee and our PTA. We will hold practices during lunch recess (11:30-12:00 & 12:30-1:00) on three Wednesdays in November (3, 10, 17) in the 4th/5th grade wing breakout space. Each practice will consist of fun ways to increase vocabulary, improve spelling, and develop correct grammar usage through mini spelling bees (friendly competition!). Thank you to everyone that ordered spirit wear! We received an update from our vendor, the items were delayed in delivery and are currently at the screen-printer. Sew Impressed hopes to have the items delivered to County Line in about two weeks. We are sorry for the inconvenience of the delay and will keep you updated.
