Welcome Back

Dear MacArthur Families,

I hope this email finds you and your family doing well and staying healthy. We are excited to welcome back our students for the 2021-2022 school year on Wednesday, September 1st. As you know, I am the new principal here at MacArthur, and I want to assure you that you can count on us to communicate, address your concerns, and ensure that your child has the tools necessary to be successful both academically and emotionally.

We have a dynamic set of teachers that are passionate about education. Our teachers have a number of years dedicated to education and serving others. This group of individuals are inspirational and align with the mission of “Empowering and Inspiring every student to Success”. MacArthur will be a place where scholars will be kept safe, loved, and challenged. We are excited for this upcoming school year. We wanted to take a moment and make sure we are communicating effectively.

  • If your child will need bus transportation either to or from school OTHER than the family address noted in Skyward, a Special Transportation Form must be completed and turned into the MAC Office for the principal's approval and signature. Form is located on the Germantown School District website under Documents / Form & Handbook. This needs to be done before the start of school to ensure the correct bussing needs are met for your child.

  • Starting out our school year, Riteway will be evaluating the capacities on the busses, and of course, any possible issues/regulations related to “target exposure”.  Thereafter, they will make a determination if any child can ride a different bus with a friend home.  We will continue to keep you informed.

Office Hours: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Medication Forms:

  • Medication forms must be filled out and brought into the office with medication, to be able to administer to your child. Form located here.

  • Parents should be dropping off the child’s medication(s) to the office, not the child.

  • Health aide will be on site for the majority of our school day.

Eagle Notes:  NEW/ UPDATED!

  • Eagle Notes will be replacing the “Purple Notes” that have been used in past years.  We have updated the form with more important information we need to have for your child, regarding any pick up changes, or when they are not in attendance at school for any time frame, which you may also call the office to report your child’s absence as well. It is very important to fill out the form completely and accurately.

  • Eagle Notes will be available to pick up during Open House, if needed.  Please discard all and any Purple Notes you may have as they will no longer be accepted. At any time you may need more throughout the year, they are available in the office or your child’s teacher.

Registration Payments and Food Service Payments:

  • The family should write the check to the order of "Germantown School District".  We need to avoid checks made to the order of another name, such as, MacArthur Elementary School or School Nutrition/Food Service. Thank you.

  • Starting in the 2021/2022 school year we are changing the process for families to request a waiver of their current year registration fees, if applicable.  All fee waiver requests will be processed in our Business Office instead of the individual schools and families will be notified via email of their waiver status.

  • Please go to Skyward Student to complete the fee waiver application.  Once logged into Skyward, go to ONLINE FORMS, FEE WAIVER.  Parents please fill out one form per family.

  • Families that want to complete a paper copy or do not have online access, a printable form can be found below:

  • GSD encourages families to complete the form electronically.  If a paper form is completed, below are the submitting options:
