National Hispanic Heritage Month this year takes place from Tuesday, September 15, through Thursday, October 15, 2026. During this time, our nation celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Building Community and Making Memories is the focus of this year’s student council. We will accomplish that goal through service, spirit, and staff appreciation. Just a reminder that makeup MAP testing is today in the Library.
Key Club is having a food drive from now until October 13th.
6th Graders - Instant Rice (white or brown) and Instant Mashed Potatoes
7th Graders - Cereal and Mac n Cheese
8th graders - Canned Fruit (pineapple, pears, mandarin oranges) and Jelly (grape or strawberry)
The Advisory with the most items will win an ice cream party!
AM Reminder - only the Gold Gym or the cafeteria in the morning. If you have food or drink, you must consume it in the cafeteria.
If a student IS NOT purchasing something, they are not allowed to "walk" with their friends thru the serving line areas. Only students purchasing items for themselves should be coming thru the lines. No one should be buying meals for other students.
Lockers - Make sure to take all food or drink (water is ok) out of your locker every night to make sure that it doesn’t spoil and attract ants or other insects. Please keep your locker clean and organized. Follow the KMS Way!
WALKING - After school on Fridays, a lot of students walk to businesses in the area. Remember to show the KMS Way when you are in the community. Be safe, be responsible and be respectful. We are counting on you to represent us well. The law says stay off the roadway unless you’re in designated crosswalks, stay on the sidewalks, stay off private property (this includes Gehl company and neighboring residences) and remember your safety rules. Please be safe. Look both ways. Use common sense. Remember the KMS Way and we can all enjoy our evening!
