Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes

Ghost Boys is a story that beautifully weaves together an amazing fictional story with historical characters and events…You’ll meet twelve year-old Jerome who is shot by a police officer who mistakes his toy gun for a real threat. As a ghost, Jerome observes the devastation that’s been unleashed on his family, his friend Carlos, and his community in the wake of what they see as an unjust and brutal killing. Jerome will also encounter another ghost: Emmett Till. Emmett will help Jerome process what has happened. Pick up this gripping and important story in the library today.
