This was the Germantown Girls’ Cross Country Team’s first trip to the Blackhawk Golf Course and the Midwest Invite in Janesville- after today's impressive results it looks like they will need to go back in 2023 to try to duplicate the results!

The girls varsity placed 10th out of 40 teams- quite a surprise given the large number of teams and quality competition; the junior varsity placed 7th out of 40 teams. 13 of 15 Germantown runners had personal best times, there was also one season best performance. There were 3 for girls and 3 for boys, with an average of 280 runners in each. Full results at www.infocustiming.com

Medal winners in the JV race were Lizzie Gscheidmeier- 3rd place, and Savannah Wendorf 22nd. Elise Olson, Gscheidmeier, Wendorf, Anne Drinan, Brooke Jakubowski, Ava Brochardt, and Jordan Knudson all had personal best times in the race. Senior Joy Shill was just off her personal best, but ran a season best time by more than a minute.

In the varsity race, the 6 Warhawk runners blew away their personal best performances. Lizzy Liker (who medaled) ran 19:50 pr, while teammate Claire Reedy followed closely behind (44th place) with a personal best 20:08. Liker moves up to #7 on the top 10 list at GHS, Reedy earned the #10 spot. Frosh Samyiah Fox obliterated her personal best by more than 2:00- her 20:17 is now #11 on the top 10 list. Teammates Erin Fredrickson, Izzy Mrzyglod, and Ella Armstrong all had awesome performances- each beating their best times by more than twenty seconds.

Up next for the Warhawk runners is a trip on September 30th to Fond du Lac's Rolling Meadows golf course which has traditionally been a favorite venue for the team.

Good luck tonight as you take on the Hamilton Chargers at home for Homecoming!  You can view the game HERE.  GO WARHAWKS!

Congratulations to Em Foran for advancing to the Sectional meet next week in Fond du Lac.  Em won a three player sudden death playoff hole with a birdie to claim her spot!  Great job, Em!
