Thursday night the Germantown Girls’ Cross Country Team's varsity runners placed 12th at the highly competitive Arrowhead Invite. This venue runs across the high school's extensive grounds and showcases some of the area's best runners. Whitefish Bay's squad won the meet- Germantown will see them several more times this season. The Warhawks all rose to the challenge at this meet. Eight of the athletes ran season best performances, many just seconds off personal best times. There were seven personal best performances as well! Claire Reedy was the first Warhawk finisher (38th) place, her time of 20:57 is just one second off her pr. She was followed by Lizzy Liker, Erin Fredickson (both season best performances), Emma Armstrong (personal best by 1:00), Izzy Mrzyglod (season best), Samyiah Fox (pr), and Angela Zheng (one second off her pr). In the JV race, frosh Elise Olson placed 19th leading the group to a 14th place team finish. Olson's time of 23:11 was almost a minute faster than her last race. Teammates Savannah Wendorf, Ava Borchardt, Brook Jakubowski, and Lily Orlowski all ran personal best times, while Joy Shill and Lizzie Gscheidmeier had season best performances. All results are available at www.pttiming.com.

Next week the team will run in the Whitefish Bay sponsored Vonden Avond Invite which will be held at Glendale's Kletzsch Park. It has been years since the team participated in this event- so it will be interesting to see if the course and invited teams have changed in the meantime.
