Congratulations to the GHS Forensics team for a spectacular WHSFA State Tournament.  Perfect Scores and Gold Medals were won by Paige Holke, Grace Schmechel, Arjun Chopra, Paige Johnson, and Lily Paschke

Congratulations to the Germantown HOSA chapter for representing GHS at their State Leadership Convention this past week in the Dells. Earning special recognition at state were Abby Stoffel and Kaylin DeHart in Occupational Health and Safety, Krithi Gopinath and Arnav Mahajan in Biology, Lauren Welch in Family Medicine and Holly Croke and Mahajan in General Chemistry. Advancing to Nationals held in Nashville this June are Mahajan in Healthcare Issues, Stoffel in Nutrition, DeHart in Persuasive Writing and Speaking, Dani Martinez in Nursing Assisting and Angela Zheng in Pharmacy Science. Also placing was Croke in Medical Math. Well done to all!

The baseball team began its season this week after a series of rainouts, losing 2 close contests, 3-2 to Brookfield Central, and 4-2 to Marquette. While offense struggled to score, strong pitching from Johnny Nieskes, Mitch Flora, Brady Schulze, and Carter Szohr kept the games close. The team plays Homestead, Hamilton, and Reagan  coming up next week. Good luck tonight against Muskego at the Rock at 7:30!

The Germantown Warhawks Softball team had another incredible week. They beat Hamilton Sussex in a pitchers' duel winning 5 to 3. Sara Nasif pitched 6 innings allowing only 2 earned runs pitching a total of 104 pitches with 72 of them being strikes. They also played West Allis winning 5 to 2. Hailey Williams pitched a gem with 62 total pitches with 43 of them for strikes. Our bats were on fire with the entire team getting multiple hits. Madison Werner and Skylar Bryl both had home runs this week. The team's batting average is .472 right now. All players on the team have contributed in one way or another. The pitching staff has only allowed 8 earned runs in 4 games.  Coach Medina is proud of every single girl on the team. He stated, "They have worked so hard for this and it is showing. We were not mentioned at all as a team to watch this year. We are out to prove them wrong." 

The Germantown Boys' Varsity Golf team began conference action this week. Germantown fired  a 162 finishing  5 shots behind Marquette's first place 157. Finishing in second place overall was Germantown's Camden Schmidt with a 1 under par 35.  Rounding out the scoring for the Warhawks Senior newcomer Sam Sies with a solid 41 followed closely by Joey Bruss with a 42.  Cody Schmidt and Justin Ische both carded 44 on the day.

On Tuesday Germantown traveled to Fire Ridge Golf Club for a Quad with Powerhouse Homestead along with Cedarburg and Hamilton.  The early season match featured the top teams from the Regional so it was a good chance to see where the Warhawks stack up early in the season.  The boys played extremely well overall finishing second with a solid 313.  Leading the way for the Warhawks was Camden Schmidt with a 2 under par 70!!  Camden has now finished 2nd in every event so far on the season, looking to top the leaderboard soon. The solid play for the Warhawks continued through the line up. Cody Schmidt's 79 placed him 6th on the day, Sam Sies carded a solid 80 for 9th place, Joey Bruss with an 84 finishing 11th and Justin Ische's 86 and Kolby Bohling's 89 rounded out the scoring.

The Warhawks travel to the Washington County Invite on Saturday in Sub 40 temps to try to earn the best team in Washington County for 2022!!  Good luck!
