Event Program

Thank you to all who have helped to make Powderpuff Football happen again this year after a year off in 2020–21. Past events have combined to raise more than $15,000 for various charitable organizations and causes. As in previous years, 80% of the proceeds from the $3 suggested entrance donation will be donated to the St. Boniface Food Pantry, with the other 20% going to the Class of 2022 fundraising account.

As a school-sponsored event, organizers expect displays of appropriate and positive sportsmanship on the field by student players/coaches as well as by spectators and guests. Many people have put in numerous volunteer hours to help to ensure that this event is able to continue and be a safe and enjoyable experience. Thank you for coming and enjoy the evening!

RULES & REGULATIONS

• A CAPTAINS MEETING WILL BE HELD BEFORE ALL GAMES.
• All apparel, including names on apparel, must be appropriate or cannot be worn. No nicknames.
• No metal cleats whatsoever. Only plastic can be used. Those found in violation will be removed from the game(s).

• A coin-toss (or another method) will determine and give two choices only: receive or kick. The other team can select which goal to defend.
• 11 players on the field for both offense and defense and a maximum of four coaches.
• Semi-final games will consist of two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The field will be split in half and end zones will be on the east and west ends, noted by cones.
• Match-ups are Freshmen v. Seniors on the south end and Juniors v. Sophomores on the north end.
• Winners of the semi-final games will play the championship game on the full field and the clock stops in the last two minutes of the game. Each team will be allowed three timeouts per game in the finals only.
• When a flag is removed, play stops and the ball is spotted by the official.
• We will play by the normal flag football rules as far as first down zones, points, etc. — 6 points for a touchdown and a 1 point conversion attempt from 3 yards and 2 points from 6 yards.
• There are no fumbles. When the ball hits the ground, the play is dead, except on a kickoff.
• A two-yard neutral zone will be marked off between the offensive and defensive lines. Failure to adhere to this will lead to an offside penalty.
• This is flag football!! Therefore, contact is not allowed. Intentional contact will lead to ejection and potential school-based discipline as this is a school-sponsored event.
• Flagrant violation of the rules could lead to a student being unable to participate in some or all of the Homecoming Week festivities, which include but are not limited to float building, parade, football game, and dance.
• All rules regarding AODA (drugs/alcohol), behavior, Code of Conduct, etc. apply as this is a school-sponsored event.
