Warhawk Pride

For home and away sporting/co-curricular events, it is important to remember that you are representing your school and community. Good sportsmanship is expected. Please cheer positively for Germantown and not against the opposing team, coaches or officials. Profane, racial, sexist or ethnic comments or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. Your help is appreciated.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the high school girls' and boys' cross country teams for their efforts on September 21 at Kennedy Middle School as they all ran over from GHS, helped with the meet, were runners to lead and follow all six races and assisted with taking down the course at the meet's completion. The KMS athletes look up to you and your program, thank you for setting a positive example and helping build a strong program in the future!

The girls set some very ambitious goals for the recent Franklin meet.  They have been working very hard at practices and are setting the groundwork for improvements at the end of the season. The Grant Park course was not a flat fast course like Arrowhead or Greenfield Park.  They still saw heartening signs of improvement- the girls are focusing on keeping their 1K splits as even as possible. The days of seeing huge improvements every meet are in the rearview mirror. Every improvement in time from now on is going to be a hard fought battle that the girls want to win!

Highlights of the meet- 2nd place team finishes for both Varsity and Junior Varsity! First place finish by Lauren Jex, with Lizzy Liker 4th, Claire Reedy 6th, and Alyssa Ferguson 17thAngela Zheng was the 5th runner in her first varsity race.  Everyone who ran the meet on Friday finished the race! This is always a win/win in the books.

Individual accolades- Alissa Lorbecki ran strong race with her 1K splits, as did Olivia Gscheidmeier. Erin Fredrickson also managed a credible time with solid splits.  Well done to all!
