The KMS Cross Country Team is having an incredible season! The 6th–8th grade runners continue to show tremendous effort, growth, determination, and support for one another at every practice and meet. The coaching staff is so proud of the way this entire team shows up, works hard, encourages their teammates, and represents Germantown with pride!
There have also been some exciting accomplishments along the way! The girls broke 8 school records, and the 6th grade girls remain undefeated as a team! Leading the way with some outstanding finishes this season have been 6th graders Autumn Martindale, Natalie Soloninka, Elliot Wittig, and Emily Murkowski; 7th grader Annie Ludovic; and 8th graders Keira Klippel and Krue Burkette.
On the boys' side, the 6th grade boys have also broken a school record! Standout finishers have included 6th grader Cole Kneisler, 7th grader Ben Kowaleski, and 8th graders Colton Alber, Ian Weber, and Brody Stuve.
A special thank-you also goes to Coach Breitzmann, who donated a Germantown Cross Country flag that travels with the team to the meets and a new start and finish flag for our home meet!
Coaches Christy Gagan, Aaron Gaskell, Kevin Breitzmann, and Layne Burkette are incredibly proud of every runner on this team. From personal records and courageous finishes to cheering for teammates and simply continuing to put one foot in front of the other, every athlete contributes to what makes this team so special. Seniors play a crucial role in the team. They bring leadership, experience, determination, and a work ethic that underclassmen can learn from. The team this year loses 7 out of 22 (1/3rd) roster spots next year and the qualities that these girls bring is hard to replace. The underclassmen were paired with a senior and showed their appreciation by making blankets and giving the seniors their favorite candies, a tradition passed on from years previous and one that will continue for years to come.
Thank you to the following Seniors: Alikah Hesiak, Tiffany Schelonka, Eliana Szejna, Izzy Koslo, Maggie Johnson, Sanvi Rathod and Julia Anderson

The Girls' Varsity Golf Team closed out their regular season this week with two 18 hole tournaments. The first on Monday was a tough test at Tuckaway Country Club in the Franklin Invite. Led by season bests from Remy Lichtig and Joie Czajka the team battled soggy and windy conditions to place 7th out of 19 teams. On Wednesday the girls played their last match as a part of the Greater Metro Conference. Remy Lichtig tied her school record of 77 and led the way to placing 6th in the conference. Remy also received 2nd team all conference honors for her consistently excellent play throughout the year. The team is onto Regionals next Thursday at Fire Ridge. Best of Luck Girls!
The JV team wrapped up their season with an 18 hole conference tournament at Blackstone on Thursday. Brynn Janczak, Hannah Jorgensen, Lily Erickson, Kailee Glapa, and Blair Baumann battled to a 5th place finish. Great season, girls!

Rave Sickler, sr., Germantown football
In Germantown's 28-14 victory over Brookfield East in Greater Metro Conference action Friday, Sept. 18, the senior was a true bell cow for the Warhawks. Sickler toted the rock 44 times for the Germantown backfield for 246 yards and three touchdowns. The senior's 44 rushing attempts also broke the program's previous all-time record (37) for a single game.
The girls have been showing their school spirit with dress up days at practice to celebrate homecoming week! The meet at Muskego on September 19th was canceled due to weather, so the girls are eager for the race this weekend. Good luck to the Warhawks as they travel to Janesville on Saturday, September 26th for a very competitive meet!

The Germantown Boys' Cross Country Team made an overnight trip to Wausau for the 70th Annual Smiley Invitational. There was some top competition at the meet including three time defending D1 state champion Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH).
Cooler weather and light rain made for some fast running on a tough course.
The JV Squad kicked off the racing and finished 14th out of 26 scoring teams. The scoring runners were: Connor McGinty (freshman), Evan Paruch (freshman), Landon Leukert (sophomore), Justin Sossaman (junior), and Max Goltry (freshman). Connor, Evan, Max, and Gabe Pearman had personal records (PRs) in the race; Landon, Wyatt Privat, and Nathan Schroeder had Season Best marks.
The Varsity race went out fast offering a preview of some of the runners that will most likely be on the podium at the State Championship. The Germantown squad finished 15th out of 25 scoring teams with Vander Hausmann (junior), Ben Armstrong (junior), Will Grimm (sophomore), Emanuel Santiago (sophomore), and Blake Yegge (junior) making up the scoring five. Congrats to Ben, Will, Emanuel, and Blake for their PRs. Vander finished 16th overall in the D1 Large Division bracket and earned a medal.
The team had a great weekend of bonding and the athletes learned about how to travel and compete at a high level. Thanks to all of the parents and supporters who made the trip to Wausau to support the team!
The team is off this weekend for Homecoming and the athletes are focused on an intense two week training block. The cross country team will next compete at the Arrowhead Invite on Saturday, October 3rd. Good luck!

Congratulations to the Wall of Sound on an excellent performance at the Saber Marching Invitational at Franklin on Saturday. They earned 1st place in AAAA competition with the best Music Performance score of the night. The competition was moved inside because of the weather and the band adjusted to the new format with ease. Featured musicians included Addie Timm on Synthesizer, Connor Foscato and Emily Laack with the opening duet, and the Saxophone Quartet of Jimmy Zheng, Amay Desai, Sasindu Wimalaratne, and Chris Lindner. Thank you to all the parents who made the trip to Franklin!
Good Luck this weekend as the Wall of Sound travels to the Fox River Invitational at Waukesha West on Sunday.

The annual Powder Puff Football Game was a success! This event raised close to $1,000 for the Saint Boniface Food Pantry and the seniors took home the win! Thank you to all who participated and volunteered in this fun event.
