Our 10th ranked Baseball team is off to an 8-0 start, 1st place in the GMC compliments of a sweep over The Falls and Tosa West.
April 19th: Germantown dominated Menomonee Falls in an 11-1 victory, fueled by a sharp 11-hit attack and lockdown pitching from Liam Hagland. Hagland earned the win with five scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing only four hits to stifle the Phoenix lineup. The Warhawks took control early with run-scoring efforts from Carter Gordon and Vinny Inga in the first, then broke the game open in the third behind a two-run triple by Nolan Vogt and a pair of defensive errors. Inga and Gordon each finished with three hits, while Ty Olszewski added two RBIs and two walks to showcase Germantown's balanced offensive pressure. Menomonee Falls struggled to find a rhythm against Hagland's command, though Nolan Bowen provided a bright spot with two hits and Nick Alburg drove in the lone run. Despite some solid relief pitching, the early damage and Germantown's consistent hitting proved too much for the Phoenix to overcome.
April 20th: Germantown capitalized on early run production and defensive miscues to rout Wauwatosa West 10-1 on Tuesday. The Warhawks immediately erased a one-run deficit in the bottom of the first inning behind Vinny Inga's two-run double, before blowing the game wide open with a five-run third frame highlighted by Alex Pluta two-run single and a pair of costly Trojan errors. Landon Hagland paced Germantown on the mound, striking out five and allowing just one run on one hit across four and two-thirds innings, though he navigated around seven walks to keep the opposition at bay. Germantown's balanced attack was rounded out by a two-hit, two-RBI day from Nolan Vogt and a relentless running game that swiped 8 bases to raise their season total to 29, keeping the pressure high.
April 21st: The Germantown Warhawks snatched a late 5-3 victory over Menomonee Falls, breaking a sixth-inning tie with a decisive two-run single from Connor Meyers. Menomonee Falls struck first with an early RBI double, but Germantown utilized a patient approach at the plate to draw 11 total walks and eventually reclaim the lead. Brady Lauer earned the win in relief, striking out three over two innings of work after starter Brady Keller provided five solid frames on the mound. Ty Olszewski paced the Warhawks' offense with two hits, while the defense came up big with a timely double play to stifle a Menomonee Falls rally, as the Warhawks completed the season sweep of the Falls.
April 22nd: The Warhawks took control early and never looked back and defeated The Trojans 7-1. Starter Tye Cretens went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 6. Tristin Brooks finished off the 7th in only 10 pitches to complete the sweep of Tosa West. Grady Cheever threw out both runners trying to steal and helped lead the offense with 3 hits including his 1st HR of the season. Jon Murkowski also collect 3 hits & 2 RBI for the Warhawks, Landon Hagland chipped 2 hits and a RBI & Carter Gordan added 2 RBI's to his team leading total. The Warhawks ran wild on the bases again with 8 more stolen bases, raising the season total to 39 in 8 games.
Next up is a 7:00pm battle tonight, April 24th, vs Rufus King at Wick Field.
