Good luck to Jackson Butzke (junior), Paige MacIntyre (junior), Allie Wink (junior) and Grayson Butzke (freshman) as they head to the Wisconsin State Alpine Ski Championships!  The State Ski Meet is held at Mt. Congratulations on hosting your invitational last weekend at GHS!  Everyone did GREAT!


Congratulations to the girls varsity snowboarding team that finished 4th in Slalom, 4th in Giant Slalom, and tied for 3rd in Boardercross with Waukesha. Also, congratulations to Kaitlyn Scott who finished 12th in the conference for combined events! The team now heads to Mt LaCrosse this weekend for the WIARA State Championships! 



Last weekend, the Germantown Forensics Team competed at West Bend and finished 3rd for mid sized teams. Individually, 9 competitors placed. Brooke Jakubowski and Meghan Dechant placed 5th in Play Acting, Paige Holke placed 4th in Radio Speaking. Grace Schmechel placed 4th in Oratory and Shay Nelson placed 4th in Informative. Nick Socha placed 3rd in Impromptu and Kolton Ceman placed 2nd in Solo Humorous Acting. Clark Capelle placed 1st in Special Occasion Speaking and Paige Johnson placed 1st in Solo Serious Acting.



Good luck to the boys' basketball team tonight as they take on Brookfield East away!


Last Friday the GHS Girls' Basketball Team defeated Brookfield Central 69-44. Lucy Leininger led the way with 16 points, followed by Jaycee Mani and Danica Gosz with 13 each. On Saturday, the Warhawks dominated state ranked Kettle Moraine Lutheran 79-59. Danica Gosz led the way with 26 points, while Lucy Leininger (17 points) and Jaycee Mani (16 points) also reached double digits. On Tuesday, the girls shook off a sluggish start to win at Hamilton, 62-52, and maintain their hold on 2nd place in the conference. Rachel Murphy had 8 second half points to help get the comeback rolling. The girls' basketball team finishes their regular season with senior night on February 16th vs. Brookfield East and then begins the playoffs at home on February 23rd vs. Fond du Lac.  Good luck!

Good luck to the gymnastics team as they head to West Allis Nathan Hale tonight for Conference!


The Bears Hockey team began the first round of playoffs on Tuesday against the Fox Cities Stars. The team jumped out to an early lead in the first period with a goal from Preston Filter. The team went on to score another goal, taking a 2-0 lead into the second period. In the second period the team scored 5 goals including goals from Reid Newkirk and assists from Preston Filter, Stone Daczka and Trevor Newkirk had two. In the third period both teams scored one goal, the Bears goal came from Reid Newkirk and was assisted by Stone Daczka. The Bears won the first round game 8-1.

 

The team plays Neenah tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Champion Center in Appleton.  Good luck!


Congrats to the Germantown Boys' Swim Team who completed their season last Saturday at the  WIAA DI Sectional Meet.  

 

The team finished 10th overall and had almost all lifetime best times.  Those who finished with lifetime best times included: 

Aiden Schufout- 50 free (.3 second time drop) and 100 fly (12th place and 2.5 second time drop)

Connor Warmke- 50 free (.3 second time drop) and 100 breast )11th place and 3 second time drop)

Brett Haensgen- 50 (.2 second time drop) and 100 free (1.4 second time drop) 

Jayden Knight- 200 IM (3.3 second time drop) and 500 free (20.5 second time drop)

John Inga- 50 free (1.5 second time drop) and 100 free (1.6 second time drop) 

Ryan Schraufnagel- 50 free (.9 second time drop)  and 100 free (.8 second time drop) 

Daniel Xu- 100 free (.3 second time drop) 

Ruben Mendes- 50 free (1.4 second time drop) 

Thomas Trump- 100 free

 

The relays also had season best times with lifetime best splits-

200 Medley Relay- Jayden Knight, Connor Warmke, Aiden Schufout & Brett Haensgen (8th place and 3.25 second time drop)

200 Free- Aiden Schufout, Brett Haensgen, John Inga & Connor Warmke (7th place and 1.6 second time drop)

400 free- John Inga, Jayden Knight, Ryan Schraufnagle & Daniel Xu (10th place and 4 second time drop)

Over this past weekend the Warhawks captured their second straight Regional title by dominating the Slinger Regional by 60 points. Eleven wrestlers qualified for Sectionals with 3 wrestlers capturing Regional championships. Taking first place were Ryan Michalski, Noah Sakac and Jacob Momper. The Warhawks will travel to Beaver Dam this weekend for a shot at the WIAA Individual State tournament.
