Warhawk Pride / Vol. 6, No. 21

Congratulations to Aidan Crowley for signing his commitment letter to play football at Stevens Point and to Ryan Ferguson for signing to play football at Minnesota State University, Mankato!


On Tuesday, February 6th, the MSG Ski Team took on West Bend, Waukesha and Slinger ski teams in Giant Slalom at Sunburst. The Girls Varsity teams had a strong 2nd place finish with Paige MacIntyre coming in 4th place and Allie Wink in 11th. The Boys Varsity team came in 3rd place this week. Jackson Butzke took 7th place and Grayson Butzke took 10th. Due to the amazing team performances this season, both the Boys and Girls Varsity teams qualify to compete at the State Championship Meet on February 18-19th in LaCrosse, WI. Good Luck to all of our G-Town racers!

Last weekend the FBLA team finished 2nd overall and had 30 students earn a 1st place award, 18 2nd place, and 63rd place, qualifying 54 for State Competition! Another 14 students made it on stage for a 4th or 5th place finish, and 8 additional students placed in 6th-10th place. Well done to all!

Over the weekend a small number of competitors from the Germantown Forensics team went to the Slinger tournament. Everyone did very well. Special Shoutout to Connor Foscato for getting 6th in Moments in History and Paige Johnson for getting 1st in Special Occasion Speaking!

  

 The KMS Forensic Team competed at the Brown Deer Cup on Saturday and earned medals for 1st place for Arya Sagar in impromptu speaking and 2nd place for Emma Kuhn and Abigail Brownfield in group acting as well as a 1st place team trophy in the small school division.  Congratulations to all!


The Germantown Fishing Team participated in the 2024 WIFA North/South Trifecta Tournament on Saturday.  Germantown was paired up with Spooner High School and finished in sixth place overall out of 24 combined teams.  

For the tourney, the team finished in:

3rd place for walleye and Crappie (Crop-EE), 

9th place for Northern and Bluegill

11th place for Perch

and 14th place for Bass


The Warchix headed to La Crosse last weekend to compete in their State competition. The Warchix brought home a 3rd place in Pom and a 4th place in Kick out of the entire State. Fantastic way to end your season Warchix!


Congratulations to Trevor and Reid Newkirk who both received All-Conference Second Team honors!

Over the past weekend Germantown secured their 3rd straight GMC title by winning the conference tournament. The Warhawks had 10 wrestlers in the finals with 3 of them taking the Greater Metro crown. Winning for the Warhawks were Owen Becker at 113, Eli Rabideau at 150 and Ryan Michalski at 157. 

Germantown travels to West Bend West this weekend for Regionals and an opportunity to make a return trip to the Team State Tournament. 


Come on out and support the GHS and MF Co-op Gymnastics Team on Tuesday, February 13th from 4-8 PM at Chick-fil-A Menomonee Falls! A portion of the sales brought in between that time will be donated to the team!

Good luck to the boys' swim team as they compete at Sectionals tomorrow at Homestead!

Last Friday the GHS Girls' Basketball Team defeated DSHA 78-65. Lucy Leininger led the way with 34 points, 4 assists, 6 steals and 3 blocked shots. Danica Gosz contributed 21 points and 6 steals to the winning effort as well!

The Warhawks dropped a tough game vs Marquette last Friday night 73-64.  Ryan Ferguson and Mason Freiburger scored 13 points each and Freiburger grabbed 9 rebounds.  Peyton McKenna contributed with 9 points and 5 assists.  Carter Privatt added 7 points and 5 rebounds.   

Plymouth came into town on Tuesday and the boys prevailed 84-68.  Cahlil Jones led the way with 22 points as 9 total players scored.  AJ Willard had 14 points, had 4 assists and 3 steals and Mason Freiburger put in 12 points and added 8 rebounds.
