The Wall of Sound competed at the Greendale Marching Invitational on Saturday, September 30, and earned third place and a score of 77.310. Their score jumped by 4 points from the previous week. The judges praised the group for their high achievement on a show with such a difficult level of both music and drill. Good luck this weekend as the group travels to Mukwonago on Sunday, September 8 for the Phantom Fest Marching Invite.

On Friday, September 29th, the Varsity Boys' Cross Country Team placed first at the Fond du Lac Memorial Invitational at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac, WI. Competing teams included Appleton East, Appleton West, Fond du Lac, Germantown, Homestead, Manitowoc Lincoln, Menomonee Falls, Neenah and Sheboygan North.

Scoring varsity athletes included Jack Wanezek (3rd place), Troy VerStrate (7th place), Calvin Redeker (10th place), Eric Olson (18th place) and Cooper Walsh (22nd place).

The Junior Varsity Boys also had an impressive performance, finishing second overall led by Nathan Pokorny (3rd place), Emerson Feltz (8th place), James Goetter (10th place), Brayden Ebli (11th place) and Tyler Oertel (17th place).

Following a few days of rain, runners experienced unusually challenging course conditions, but even so, several athletes managed to run lifetime personal records in Friday’s 5k. Those athletes include Alec Dayton (23:30), Noah Rafn (23:35), Max Pirkey (23:45) and Colin Hecker (26:44).

Way to run, Warhawks!

On Sunday, October 1st, over 40 athletes and parents were up before dawn to host aid station #2 at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. Lake Drive was lined in blue as they handed out Gatorade and water to nearly 4,000 half marathon and marathon finishers and cheered runners on along the way throughout the morning.

Athletes and families, your support of the greater running community is greatly appreciated! Thank you for helping make this year's event a success.  Numerous compliments were given about how wonderful the team did that day- way to represent Germantown!

Fond du Lac Invite – September 29th, 2023

For the second meet in a row, the race was held on a golf course.  While this can lend itself to faster times, heavy rain during the week left the course very soft, which usually results in slower times.  Such is the nature of cross-country running, where times can vary greatly from course to course, and runners have to face the fact that they won’t always be able to lower their time, each time they race.

Despite most running slower times than last week, the girls did well with superb individual and team results.  Medal winners in the JV race were Elise Olson (5th), Carley Lorbecki (8th), and Emily Laitinen (10th), leading their team to 2nd place!  The varsity team was led by medal winners Samyiah Fox (5th), Lizzy Liker (9th), and Kierta Siegert (14th), for 3rd place!  These were the team's best team results of the season; full results can be found at:  https://www.pttiming.com/event.php?mid=1565&pt=results

Good luck tonight as the team takes on West Allis Central at home!  You can purchase tickets HERE, or in person with cash.  GO GTOWN!
