AP honor roll badge

We are pleased to announce Germantown High School earned SILVER status on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll for the 2022-23 school year!

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success. For Silver recognition on the AP School Honor Roll, schools must meet the following criteria in the most recent graduating class:

  • College Culture: 50% or more of the graduating cohort took at least 1 AP Exam during high school.  [GHS Score: 52%]
  • College Credit: 30% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least 1 AP Exam during high school. [GHS Score: 46%]
  • College Optimization: 5% or more of the graduating cohort took 5 or more AP Exams during high school. At least 1 of those exams was taken in 9th or 10th grade, so that students are spreading their AP experience across grades rather than feeling disproportionate pressure in any single year.  [GHS Score: 14%]

This criteria is anchored in research-based relationships between AP and college outcomes. Research shows students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. Students who enter four-year colleges with credits from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. For those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.

Congratulations to our students and staff on this wonderful achievement. Go Warhawks!
