Warhawk Pride / Vol. 6, No. 3

Warhawks: Please show good sportsmanship at all sporting events, both home and away, throughout the year.  It is expected that all in attendance exhibit and promote good sportsmanship.  Cheer positively for Germantown and show respect for the opponent, all coaches, officials, and event staff.  GO WARHAWKS!

Germantown hosted Marching Band Madness on Saturday, September 9 at Datka Stadium. Bands from Hamilton-Sussex, Cedarburg, Antigo, and the Wall of Sound all participated. Each band had a 45 minute clinic with WSMA judges. The Warhawk Band Boosters fed bandmembers from all schools. Each band performed their show in the evening for a bleacher full of fans.  The GHS Wall of Sound certainly stole the show!

This weekend the Wall of Sound travels to Franklin for the Marching Saber Invitational. Good luck to the band as they begin their competition season.

Arrowhead Invitational – September 7, 2023

Arrowhead hosted the Germantown Girls' Cross Country team’s 3rd  meet last Thursday on their school grounds.  This was the team's biggest meet so far this season, with 18 schools represented.  After warm, humid conditions the previous week, cool, overcast weather provided perfect conditions for running, and the girls ran strong with numerous PRs (personal records) and SBs (season bests).

Lowering their PRs were Elise Redeker, Katy Morin, Adeline Timm, Anne Drinan, Lauren Reineck, Emily Laitinen, Savannah Wendorf, Ella Molnar, Ava Borchardt, Paige Greisch, Elyse Steuerwald, Jordan Knudson, Ellie Ankerson, and Brooklyn Chesir; running SBs were Lizzy Liker, Keira Lorbecki, Ella Armstrong, Grace Pedersen, Alissa Lorbecki, and Brooke Jakubowski.  The girls also continue to run faster than they had at this time last year, with 8 out of 9 runners improving their times on this course.

Medals winners in the varsity race were Samyiah Fox (18th) and Lizzy Liker (22nd), leading the varsity team to 8th place.  The JV team showed the depth we have this year, placing 3rd.  Full results can be found at: https://pttiming.com/event.php?mid=1502&pt=results

A special shoutout to Captains Lizzy Liker and Alissa Lorbecki.  These seniors have done a great job with leading the team, through summer running and into this season.  Well done and thank you ladies!
