Thank you to the Band for playing at the girls' basketball state semi-final game in Green Bay!  You all sounded wonderful!


Also, congratulations to the many musicians who performed at the WSMA District Solo and Ensemble Festival at Menomonee Falls last Saturday. Germantown had 113 entries. 54 earned a superior rating and the honor of performing at the WSMA State Festival in May.

On Wednesday night the boys competed in the Indoor Season Opener here at home in a quad with Cedarburg, Homestead and Menomonee Falls.


Josh Brunner (10-06.00) and Ben Nuchikat (7-06.00) took 1st and 7th place in the pole vault respectively. In the long jump JV Myles (20-06.00) took 1st place, followed by Vance Burnham in 5th (18-05.00) and Michael Lenius in 8th (17-02.00). Germantown’s top three finishers in the high jump were Vance Burnham in 6th (5-02.00), Darrius Peete in 8th (5-02.00) and Michael Lenius in 10th (5-00.00). Germantown’s top three finishers in the shot put were Henry Martinka in 9th (34-00.00), Colin Mahaffy in 14th (31-10.00) and Xavier Roberson (28-08.00).

 

On the running side, Oran Voigt took 4th (10.04) in the 55 meter intermediate (36”) hurdles. Jonas Price (9.02) and Charles Morrow (10.03) took 3rd and 5th overall respectively in the 55 meter high (39”) hurdles. Germantown’s top three finishers in the 55 meter dash were JV Myles in 1st (6.78), Jayson Koel in 2nd (6.86) and Mythais Polk in 13th (7.30). The boys 1600m run followed with Dillon Walker (4:36.90) placing 1st, Troy VerStrate (4:48.30) 2nd, and Eric Olson (5:09.15) 5th. Germantown’s top three finishers in the 400m dash were Michael Lenius (57.86) in 2nd, Darrius Peete (58.84) in 3rd and Austin Ribar (1:02.64) in 7th. Germantown took nine of the top ten places in the 800m run with Jack Wanezek in 1st (2:09.10), Bennett Krause in 2nd (2:10.88) and Joey Knopp in 3rd (2:12.18). A relay team consisting of Vance Burnham, Danny Holloway, AJ Willard and Caleb Ruehs took 3rd overall in the 4x160m. Way to start the season out strong, Germantown!

On Thursday, the girls' track team opened up their season at the Homestead Indoor Quadrangular. No team scores were taken, but it was a great start for both returners and newcomers!  

 

Top performances included: 


55m Dash - Rylie Olson (1st - 7.89), Macie Daniel (4th - 8.33), Saniya Griffin (5th - 8.35) 


400m Dash - Claire Reedy (3rd - 1:11.78), Grace Weyda (5th - 1:13.25)


800m Run - Samyiah Fox (3rd - 2:52.8)  


1600m Run - Kate Ittner (1st - 5:58.06), Lizzy Liker (2nd - 5:59.69) 


55m Hurdles - Grace Weyda (4th - 10.40) 


Shot Put - Piper Eby (1st - 30’ 10.5”)


Pole Vault - Claire Reedy (3rd - 6’ 6”)


Long Jump - Jurnee Clayberg (2nd - 14’ 9”)


A 1st place finish for the 4x160yd relay team of Saniya Griffin, Miranda Leffler, Macie Daniel, Rylie Olson (1:40.41)


The JV girls will be back in action on April 1st at the GMC JV Indoor Conference Meet at Brookfield East and the Varsity girls will compete next at the GMC Varsity Indoor Conference Meet at Germantown on April 5th.   


Coach Davis and some football players went to the Gables of Germantown to have lunch together on Saturday.  The students did a great job connecting with the residents and the residents really enjoyed having them!
