JW Speaker visits 3rd grade

On October 5, 2022 the third graders participated in an assembly done by JW Speaker, a company located in Germantown. This assembly highlighted National Manufacturing Day which was Oct. 7. Leslie Fee and friends shared some information about JW Speaker. Then they put the students to work on solving a challenge that included spaghetti noodles, tape, and a marshmallow. The students needed to work in teams of 5 to 6 students to build the highest tower using only the materials they were given. They were given 18 minutes to solve this challenge. This project took creativity, problem solving, and teamwork. Leslie told the students that these are the skills that employers are looking for in good employees. The activity was lots of fun for the students. The third graders would like to thank JW Speaker for the awesome presentation.
